Biography

Craig T. Nelson’s name will forever be synonymous with his television alter ego, Coach Hayden Fox. From 1989 to 1997, Nelson embodied the fictional Minnesota State University coach that left an enduring impression on television audiences. For the role, Nelson earned an Emmy Award and four Golden Globe nominations. Born in Washington, Nelson began picking up bit parts in film and television roles in the early 1970s. His resume soon expanded to include memorable turns in the films “All the Right Moves,” “Poltergeist II: The Other Side” and “Turner and Hooch.” After “Coach” ended its run, Nelson appeared as a district attorney in CBS’ “The District,” which lasted from 2000 to 2004. Nelson also picked up a Visual Effects Society Award for lending his voice to the role of Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible in the Disney/Pixar hit “The Incredibles.”
