Due to her love for acting, in college Angela Kinsey took as many theater courses as possible. After graduating, she worked as an intern for Max Weinberg on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. She then went to Los Angeles and studied improvisation with The Groundlings and iO WEST. After a one-woman show at iO, she became an operator at 1-800-DENTIST. During this time, there was also an Angela Kinsey appearance on various sitcoms, as well on two episodes of King of the Hill as the voice of Angela.

In 2005, although she originally auditioned for the role of Pam Beesly for the American version of The Office, she won the role of Angela Martin instead. In June 2007, she won the Daytime Emmy Award “Outstanding Broadband Program – Comedy,” for her work on The Office: Accountants, a series of webisodes. She also appeared in the movie License to Wed along with other cast members of The Office. The film was directed by Ken Kwapis, who is also the director of some episodes of The Office.
