Biography

John Feinstein is largely credited as being one of the most cerebral and prolific sports commentators and sportswriters working today. Feinstein graduated from Duke University in 1977 after earning his stripes as a sportswriter of the college daily “The Chronicle.” By 1987, he was getting national recognition for the book “A Season on the Brink,” in which Feinstein chronicled a year spent with the Indiana University basketball team and coach Bobby Knight. Feinstein followed this success with “A Season Inside,” documenting the 1987-1988 season of college basketball teams across the nation.

Today the name John Feinstein appears on 23 titles on bookstores’ shelves with books covering golf, basketball and football. Feinstein also pens a column for “The Washington Post” and contributes to National Public Radio and the radio programs “The Jim Rome Show” and “The Tony Kornheiser Show.” A resident of New York and Maryland with his wife and two children, Feinstein puts his Duke loyalties on hold as the regular color commentator for football games for the United States Naval Academy.

His voice at Navy football games and on radio programs has made John Feinstein a nationally known and respected sports pundit. If you’d like to schedule a John Feinstein speaker engagement, just contact TSE and we’ll take care of all the John Feinstein appearance fee negotiations for you.
