Amanda Hesser is a chef, cookbook author, and food reporter. Growing up she was always interested in cooking, and even worked in a bakery throughout her college career. After graduating from Bentley College in 1993, with a degree in economics, Hesser decided to pursue her passion, by studying cooking in Europe. She spent the following few years working in bakeries and restaurants throughout Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and France, and it was here that she first began writing for a food critic publication. After returning to the United States, Hesser began working as a food critic for The New York Times. Since then she has written several books, and her work has been featured in numerous publications and collections.
