Dan Barber has been called one of the best chef’s in all of New York City by The James Beard Foundation. In addition, the foundation named him the Most Outstanding chef of the Year in 2009. Barber began his cooking career by cooking for family at friends at his Blue Hill Farm in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and since then has opened three restaurants in New York and Massachusetts. All of his restaurants have received Best Restaurant recognition from the James Beard Foundation, and have received rave reviews in multiple publications such as the New York Times. Today, Barber works as executive chef and co-owner of Blue Hill New York, frequently speaks on behalf of local food issues throughout New York.
