Harold Dieterle is perhaps best known as the winner of Top Chef Season 1. Prior to joining Top Chef, Dieterle had attended The Culinary Institute of America to gain his professional training. After graduating he went to work for Della Femina, a restaurant in The Hamptons, for two years, and then The Red Bar and 1770 House, both in New York City. Eventually, he landed at The Harrison, in New York, as the Sous-Chef. Since wining Top Chef, Dieterle has returned to New York, where he opened his own restaurant, Perilla, in May of 2007.
