Jacques Pepin is an internationally recognized French chef, television host, and author. Today, Pepin works as the Dean of Special Programs at the French Culinary Institute in New York City. He also serves as a professor of cuisine and culture at Boston University in the gastronomy department and as a part time professor at the French Culinary Institute. In addition, he writes regularly for Food and Wine Magazine and hosts various shows for PBS. Over his career he has hosted numerous series for PBS, most notably including The Complete Pepin, which just began a re-launch after 10 years off the air, and Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home, in which he starred with Julia Child and won a Daytime Emmy Award. In addition to his Daytime Emmy Award, Jacques Pepin has been awarded with two of the French government’s highest honors; he is a Chevalier de L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, as a result to his tremendous contributions to French Culture, and he is a Chevalier de L’Ordre du Mérite Agricole, because of his great civil achievements. In addition, Pepin was awarded France’s ultimate civilian recognition: the Légion d’honneur.
