Michael Schulson began cooking as a young child along side his mother and grandmother. Culinary Arts has always been a passion for Michael and after graduating high school he continued his pursuits at the Culinary Institute of America. There he interned and learned from the great David Burke at New York’s Park Avenue Café. After graduating the Culinary Institute Shulson continued to work at New York’s Peacock Alley in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel as well as Le Bec Fin in Philadelphia and Susanna Foo. Through his career as a chef Shulson found himself increasingly interested in the Japanese Cuisine culture. He then went on a seven month excursion to Japan to learn the ways of Asian cooking. Completely immersed in the culture and the masterfulness of the chefs he learned from Michael took his knowledge back to the United States where his success took off. Michael Schulson is a professional chef with a resume full of experience in cooking as well as appearances on television. He is widely known for his flavorful, enriched Japanese cuisine which can be enjoyed at his restaurant Izakaya in Atlantic City along side famous chefs’ Bobby Flay Michael Mina and Wolfgang Puck.
