Famous for his career as a comedian, a Rob Riggle appearance also occurred in the the US Marine Corps Reserve as a Major. With the Reserves, Riggle was sent to Liberia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. A recipient of the Combat Action Ribbon, Riggle is sometimes referred to as The Daily Show’s Military Analyst. In August 2007, Riggle visited Iraq to report for The Daily Show and entertain the troops under the scope of the United Service Organization.

Riggle began his comedy career as part of the “Flab Four” on the Comedy Central mini-series Straight Plan for the Gay Man, a parody of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. He usually teamed with Rob Huebel at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and in their former improvisational sketch comedy troupe Respecto Montalban.

A featured player on SNL during the 2004 to 2005 season, the first Rob Riggle appearance as a cast member was on the show’s 30th episode. Prior to being a cast member, he appeared on an SNL sketch called Fear Factor Jr.

In 2006, Riggle made guest appearances on The Office and Arrested Development, and on the 2006 film Talladega Nights with Will Ferrell. 2006 was also the year he joined The Daily Show to replace the Rob Corddry.

A regular Rob Riggle appearance can also be seen in the MTV sketch comedy series Human Giant. In 2008, he was a supporting actor in Step Brothers, and he also went to China to record sketches for The Daily Show during the Olympics, working on a four-part special feature, Rob Riggle: Chasing the Dragon.
