Rudy Gatlin grew up in a family of musicians. Even at a young age, his parents were teaching him gospel music, and when he was two years old, he and his brothers, Larry and Steve, won a talent show in Abilene, Texas. After their early success, they started singing in church, on radio, and the “Slim Willet Show” on KRBC-TV.

The Gatlin brothers continued their musical career, recording numerous albums, touring throughout the US, and playing sold out concerts and fairs. The Academy of Country Music honored them with awards for Single of the Year for “All the Gold in California” and Album of the Year for “Straight Ahead.” They also performed on Country Music Association awards shows, country music specials like The Barbara Mandrell Show, The Johnny Cash 25th Anniversary Show, “Country Comes Home” on CBS, Good Morning America, and the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson and Jay Leno. Their travels took them to various country music festivals and popular TV shows like “Musicladen” in Germany. The Gatlin brothers have also performed for special events at the White House and the Ford Theater.
