In 1962, Fergie Jenkins was signed by Philadelphia Phillies scout Tony Lucadello, with the first Fergie Jenkins appearance in the major league three years later. In 1966, he was traded to the Chicago Cubs, where he became one of the best pitchers in the league. In the first full year of a Fergie Jenkins appearance, he recorded 20 wins while posting a 2.80 ERA and 236 strikeouts, leading him to finish second in the Cy Young Award voting. He also made an appearance in that year’s All-Star Game.
Jenkins’s best season cam in 1971, when he played in the All-Star Game and won the National League Cy Young Award, making him the first Cubs pitcher and the first Canadian ever to win the Cy Young. Jenkins streak of six straight seasons with 20 or more wins from 1967 to 1972 is the longest in the Major League since the feat was done between 1956 and 1961. In 1972, he made another All-Star Game appearance.
There was also a Fergie Jenkins appearance with the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox. In 1987, he was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. In 1991, Jenkins became the first Canadian ever elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. In 2004, he was inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame as well as into Canada’s Walk of Fame. In 1979, Jenkins became a Member of the Order of Canada for being “Canada’s best-known Major League baseball player”.

Fergie Jenkins Endorsement
As the anchor of the 13 Black Aces, a group of African American pitchers with at least twenty wins in one season, and as a leading figure in Canada’s sports history, a Fergie Jenkins endorsement brings a credibility and respect few other pitchers have obtained.
