Dena Fishbein never planned on a career in home design. Growing up she wanted to do something with the outdoors, and she even graduated college at UCLA with a degree in architectural landscaping. After graduation, she moved to New York City where she got a job at an agency that sold art to textile manufacturers. While working there she had kept a small notebook filled with various sketches and designs. One day she showed the notebook to a licensing agent who thought she had some real potential in the product design industry, and everything sort of fell into place from there. She went on to create an entire line of stationery, wallpaper, fabrics, rugs, bedding, and dinnerware-anything really, that could be enhanced by one of her playfully chic designs. Today, she owns and operates her own interior design business, Dena Designs, for which she has received countless awards and honors for her unique and creative designs.
