Since the age of five, Franzella Guido has wanted to be an architect. Her training began once she was accepted to the Design and Architecture Senior High School in Miami, Florida. After high school, Guido moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she studied at the prestigious Pratt Institute, it was there that she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. She eventually moved back to Miami, Florida, where she worked with one of the top design firms in the country, Zyscovich Inc., for three years. She then decided to branch out and form her own design firm, Franzella Guido Designs. Since then, she has worked with some of the top engineers on all aspects of the construction industry, and is responsible for some of the largest commercial and residential design projects in all of Florida.

Each year Franzella Guido makes appearances at various design events throughout Florida, to lecture on all design topics. She is also known to give helpful hints and do-it-yourself advice to homeowners looking to transform their homes. After forming her own design company in 2003, Franzella Guido decided to expand her career, by making her television debut as a guest designer on TLC’s In a Fix. After her appearance on the show, she was discovered by HGTV, and hand selected to host their new television series, My First Place. On the show she takes homeowners on the process of transforming their first houses into homes.
