Janette Smith has always described herself as a “southern girl” at heart. Although born in St. Paul, Minnesota Janette spent most her life moving all over the world with her father, a US Air Force officer. Today, Janette works as a reporter and anchor for the Fox news program Good Day Atlanta in Georgia. Prior to moving to Atlanta Janette was co-host of Good Morning Dallas, ABC’s Emmy award winning morning show, and was both an anchor and reporter for NBC in Huntersville, Alabama and Cincinnati, Ohio. When she is not working Janette dedicates most of her time to children’s issues, acting as a spokesperson for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She is also an active member of the NAACP, the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
