Nancy Golden is known by most for her lively presentations on do it yourself home decorating projects. Always taking an interest in decorating, Golden discovered her true passion for the work after redecorating and refurnishing a home for a friend of hers when the friend did not want to pay the high price for a professional designer. Today, Golden has turned her passion into a successful career. After going back to design school she founded the Minnesota chapter of the Independent Designers Association, and today works as a design expert on several DIY Network shows. She is host of Ask DIY and three other programs for the cable network, Weekend Decorating, DIY Decorating and Design, and Bare Walls. In addition to her work for DIY, she has hosted the Home and Garden Television network Christmas special The Southern Living Holiday Idea House as well as twenty episodes of the HGTV series Decorating Cents.
