Shari Hiller is the creator of the very first show to air on HGTV, the popular Room by Room. The show been on the air for just over fourteen years and has produced more than 350 episodes. Serving as writer, designer, and host of the show, Shari works with co-host Matt Fox to help homeowners redesign their homes through a simple step by step process. Shari claims to have had a passion for home decorating for as long as she can remember; she claims that a child she would use her own room as a testing space, changing the furniture every week. Wanting to make a career out of home design, Shari went to college at Kent State University to obtain her degree in interior design. After graduating she worked for a local interior design company, designing interiors for home and office space in the Cleveland Area. Today, in addition to hosting the show, Shari works with Matt to produce a weekly decorating column that appears in several newspapers nationwide. The two have also written two home decorating books, Great Weekend Projects and Real Decorating for Real People.
