Troy Norton is the nationally recognized host of HGTV’s Building Character. Growing up in Wisconsin Norton spent most of his time working at his family’s furniture restoration business, Heritage Shop. It was here that Norton first realized his true passion for restoration, renovation, and converting spaces. Shortly after college Norton returned home and decided to purchase an abandoned car dealership that he quickly renovated into an indoor sports center featuring batting cages, games, and a 1950’s style diner. The back of the building, once a car garage, was converted into a space for the city youth center. Eventually Norton moved out to Los Angeles and decided to try acting. He quickly landed guest appearances on Friends and Will and Grace, and then ultimately got his staring role as host on Building Character.
