A superstar on two continents and famous around the world, Helio Castroneves is one of the top drivers in the IRL IndyCar series. A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Castroneves first caught the attention of the racing world in the CART series and then he made the move to the IRL in 2001. In his first start ever in the Indianapolis 500 he dominated the race and led for 52 laps, including the most important final lap. Obviously that earned him the Indy 500 Rookie of the Year Award, and then he came back in 2002 and won the prestigious race again, joining the likes of Al Unser and Bill Vukovich as the only drivers to win in consecutive years.
