AJ Pierzynski’s high school baseball career was decorated with All-State honors. In 1994, he was drafted by the Minnesota Twins out of high school, playing for their minor league affiliates for four years. He was soon called up to the Major League team and the first AJ Pierzynski appearance for the Twins came in September 1998. He spent the next five seasons with the Twins and became a regular starter in 2001. The following year, he made the American League All-Star Team as a reserve catcher. In the 2002 American League Division Series, Pierzynski hit a critical home run in the ninth inning of the final game, helping the Twins secure a victory.
After being traded to the San Francisco Giants in 2003, Pierzynski spent one season with them before being signed as a free agent in 2005 by the Chicago White Sox. In 2006, he was included in the five American League players in the All-Star Final Vote, where he received 3.6 million votes, leading to a second AJ Pierzynski appearance in the All-Star game.
Pierzynski holds the AL record for consecutive errorless chances, and in December 2005, he became a wrestler at TNA Turning Point.
