In 2003, Brandon Webb joined the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he became a candidate for Rookie of the Year. During the 2006 season, Webb had a solid 8-0 record through his first 13 starts. He also pitched in that year’s Major League All-Star Game, where he recorded a hitless inning. 2006 also brought Webb his first Cy Young Award.
Webb struggled in the second half of the ’06 season due to elbow soreness and dealing with the loss of his close friend and former UK teammate, Jon Hooker, who was among the victims of a tragic plane crash. However, his ferocious pitching acumen still helped Webb pitch seven successful innings and secure a win in a game against the San Diego Padres a day after the tragedy. His 16 wins that season tied five other pitchers for the most victories in the National League. Also, his 3.10 ERA was fourth best in the majors.
Brandon Webb Speaker
A Brandon Webb speaker appearance is an opportunity for Webb to discuss the many highlights of his still-young professional career. From All-Star appearances to Cy Young awards, Webb has more to talk about than most 29-year-olds.
Brandon Webb Appearance
A Brandon Webb appearance on the mound intimidates even the best hitters. In fact, Webb has the 12th longest scoreless innings streak in major league history – a streak that includes three straight complete game shutouts.
Brandon Webb Endorsement
Perhaps the most famous Brandon Webb endorsement is having a section of Highway 60 in Ashland named “Brandon Webb Highway” in honor of their local hero.
