In his 15-year Major League Baseball career, Larry Bowa collected more than 2,000 hits and proved to be one of the best all-around players of his era. He set a National League record with 2,222 career games played at shortstop, where he won two Gold Gloves. Bowa was an NL All-Star five times in his career, and finished third in the MVP voting in 1978. Although best known as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies, Bowa also played for the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets.
