When the MLB trade deadline came on July 31, 2004, Nomar Garciaparra was traded to the Chicago Cubs. He didn’t play with the cubs very long because in 2006 he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers. While playing for the Dodgers, Garciaparra was at first base and was elected to the 2006 All-Star game. On October 7, 2006 Nomar was named the National League’s Comeback Player of the Year. In June of 2007 the Dodgers announced that Garciaparra would move from first base to third base in order to make room for James Loney.
