In his 22-year baseball career with the Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins and Toronto Blue Jays, “Molly” collected 3,316 hits while recording a career batting average of .306. A seven-time All-Star, Molitor could play just about any position on the field and it’s often forgotten that he was an accomplished base stealer with more than 500 swipes in his career. Molitor is also remembered for his 39-game hitting streak in 1987, which is still the fifth-longest in the history of Major League Baseball. The Brewers retired his number 4 in 1999, and Molitor was also an important member of the Blue Jays, winning the 1993 World Series MVP Award while helping bring a championship to Canada, and he notched his 3,000th career hit while playing for the Twins. Along with longtime teammate Robin Yount, Molitor is the only other Brewer in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
