Title: Women’s Basketball PlayerAnne Donovan is one of the most decorated figures in the history of women’s basketball. She is the only player to ever lead her college team to a national championship and then coach a professional team to a national title. She was also the first female coach to win 100 games, and she was the first female coach to win a WNBA title.
But Donovan was winning games well before she became a head coach. A Anne Donovan appearance for Old Dominion University from 1979-1983 helpted the Lady Monarchs to a AIAW national championship, while Donovan became the 1983 Naismith College Player of the Year. For her college career Donovan averaged a double-dole with 20 points and 14.5 rebounds per game.
Anne Donovan Speaker
A great Anne Donovan speaker topic would surely include her tenure as head coach of the 2008 US Olympic basketball team that won the gold medal in Beijing. And don’t forget, Donovan also won two Olympic gold medals as a player, one in Los Angeles in 1984 and a second in Seoul in 1988.
Anne Donovan Appearance
Because there we not many professional outlets for women’s basketball in the United States, every pro Anne Donovan appearance took place overseas. Donovan played professionally in both Japan and Italy from 1983 to 1989.
Anne Donovan Endorsement
In 1995, an Anne Donovan endorsement was given by the press and her peers, and Donovan was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
