As a 6’9” center, Arnie Risen is one of the players who helped put basketball on the map of American sports. In the 1940s, Risen led the Ohio State University Buckeyes to two straight Final Four appearances, although he did not manage to win a National Championship.
However, the championships would come in his professional career. Risen played professionally in the NBA for ten seasons (1948-1958). For his first six seasons, Risen was a member of the Rochester Royals. And in his final four seasons, there was an Arnie Risen appearance with the Boston Celtics, helping them to two NBA Championships.
