Billie Moore is one of the most successful basketball coaches in women’s basketball history. She was the first coach in women’s basketball to lead two teams to national championships. She led California State-Fullerton to the AIAW national title in 1970 – her first year as head coach. In 1977, Moore took over the women’s basketball program at UCLA and led the Lady Bruins to the the AIAW national title in 1978.
Perhaps as important as coaching her college teams to victory, there was a Billy Moore appearance as head coach of the US Olympic women’s basketball team in the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
