Title: Former NBA PlayerBob Love played with the Chicago Bulls for eight seasons from 1969 to 1976. For seven straight years he was the Bulls leading scorer and is the second highest scorer in Bulls history (yeah, second only to MJ).
Bob’s biggest challenge was overcoming his speech problem, which prohibited him from speaking with stuttering. When Bob retired from basketball he tried for seven years to find a steady job and, in 1984, was hired as a dishwasher for $4.45 an hour.
Eventually, at the age of 45, Bob finally found a speech therapist willing to help him and worked as hard at his speaking abilities as he had done with his basketball skills.
The Chicago Bulls appointed Bob Director of Community Relations and he would earn a salary speaking about the Bulls and life in general. Bob accepted the offer and is now speaking on behalf of the Bulls in the Chicago community.
