Derek Fisher began his career playing for the University of Arkansas. He then entered the draft in 1996 and was signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. He also spent time playing for the Utah Jazz and the Golden State Warriors. He took a break when his 10-month year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer.

He average double digits in points in three different seasons, as well as won three consecutive championships with the Lakers. Fisher was a key contributor in Los Angeles’ 2000-01 playoffs and given the nickname “The Fish that Saved L.A.” He was known to be underrated behind his superstar teammates like Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.
