Sidney Moncrief was part of the Razorbacks trio known as “The Triplets,” who led the team all the way to the Final Four in 1978. They were responsible for resurrecting the University’s basketball program in the 1970s and making it one of the country’s premier college athletic programs through the mid-1990s. Moncrief was the school’s all-time leading scorer until Todd Day broke his record in 1992. The school also had his jersey retired.
Moncrief went on to the NBA and, in 1979, was drafted fifth overall by the Milwaukee Bucks. There, he helped lead the Bucks to some of their finest seasons and their Moncrief-led teams held the third best in winning percentage of any NBA team in the 1980s. He was also named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year for the ‘82-‘83 and ’83-‘84 seasons, made the All-Star team for five consecutive years, and received All-NBA first team honors in 1983. Before retiring, Moncrief played one season with the Atlanta Hawks, but his legacy remains with the Bucks. For his accomplishments, the team retired his number four jersey.

The following year, he rejoined the NBA to serve as shooting coach for the Golden State Warriors.
