Duke University is known more for academics (and basketball) rather than being a football powerhouse, but the North Carolina school did produce a solid football player and now media personality in Brian Baldinger. An 11-year veteran of the NFL who played for the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles, Baldinger is probably better known as an author, speaker and TV commentator. He is the author of “The Map to Clear Messages” and also a teacher in addition to all his work covering the NFL. Both of his brothers also played pro football, and Baldinger is remembered for his toughness and the injury he sustained when his pinky finger got stuck in an opponent’s facemask.
