Two-Time Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year, Al Groh has compiled an impressive resume. A New York native, Groh has been a successful collegiate and professional football coach for over 38 years, and Groh is showing no signs of slowing down.

Al Groh began his college coaching career in 1968 as the defensive coach for the plebe squad at Army. After a few stints with top collegiate teams, including North Carolina and Wake Forest, Groh took his knowledge to the NFL. Groh was an assistant under legendary Bill Parcels in two Super Bowls, including the 1990 Super Bowl XXV victory with the New York Giants.

After 13 seasons in the NFL, Al Groh returned to college football where he is currently the head coach of the Virginia Cavaliers. Maintaining his NFL mentality, Groh revolutionized the Cavs defense by implementing a 3-4 defense which was rare for the college game. Groh has led Virginia to four consecutive winning seasons and three bowl victories.
