After his first experiences in the coaching community with Iowa, Kent State, and Kansas State, Stoops’ found his niche at the University of Florida. Under Steve Spurrier, Stoops became the Gators’ defensive coordinator and their link to becoming National Champions.

Currently in his ninth year as head coach, Stoops has a combined record of 96-20, the second most wins by any Division I Football Bowl Subdivision school and the best record of any BCS school during his stretch.
