Butch Davis hadn’t planned on starting his coaching career as early as he did, but when a knee injury sidelined him at the University of Arkansas, Davis’ coaching fate kicked in, becoming a student assistant for the Razorbacks.

Butch began a successful 15-year association with coaching legend Jimmy Johnson, starting with stints on the collegiate level at Okalahoma and the University of Miami. Following Johnson to the pros, Butch enjoyed back-to-back Super Bowl championships as defensive line coach and coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys.

Davis returned to college football when he was offered his first head coaching job back at the University of Miami. After quickly turning that program around, he returned to the NFL with the Cleveland Browns. Currently, Butch Davis is leading the program at the University of North Carolina, where he has been head coach since the 2006 season.
