Joe Gibbs has had an incredible career as the coach for multiple teams, both college and professional, as well as the owner of a NASCAR championship team. In his 12 seasons coaching the Washington Redskins, he led them to 8 playoff appearances, 4 NFC championship titles and 3 Super Bowl titles. In 1996 he was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Gibbs was known to have a strong offense on his team, and gave his players the right support they needed to succeed, on the field and off.
In 1991, Gibbs began his second career, a NASCAR team named Joe Gibbs Racing. The team won three NASCAR Championships. Currently, his son is the president of the team since 2004 when Gibbs decided to return to being a football coach. He has been back with the Redskins ever since and though his comeback did not start out as strong as his past successes, he has stated he will not quit until he has gotten the team back to where he believes it can be.
