During his 25 year career as the head coach for the University of Nebraska, Tom Osborne led his team to a bowl every year. He never finished with fewer than 9 wins during a quarter-century of coaching college football. In his last 4 years as a coach, the football team won 3 national championships and when he ended his career he had an 84% winning record.

After stepping away from college football in 1997, Osborne moved into politics. From 2001 to 2007, Osborne represented Nebraska’s 3rd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.
