When he began skating in 1986, McKay honed his skills at Kevin Harris’ Richmond Skate Ranch, where he was sponsored by Powell Peralta. As an amateur, his progress was quite fast. A Colin McKay appearance can be seen in the 1990 Powell film, “Propaganda.” Until he turned pro in 1993, he contributed to the technical lip tricks in vertical skateboarding and remained a top amateur skater.
McKay went on to join Plan B Skateboards team, the leading company established by Mike Ternansky, Steve Rocco, and Danny Way. Even with its drought in the early 1990s, McKay held fast to his career in skateboarding thanks to his Plan B membership. In 1992, the company released “Questionable,” a video featuring the team riders, which boosted his popularity. The company released another video in 1993 entitled “Virtual Reality”.
In 2005, McKay revived Plan B, and remained a giant in the world of vertical skateboarding. He is also a share-owner of DC Shoes, a skateboard footwear company, RDS Skate Supply, and Centre Distribution. Independent Trucks is his current sponsor.

Colin McKay Endorsement
McKay remained a prominent figure in skateboarding even when the sport lost its popularity in the 1990s. Now that skateboarding is returning to the American mainstream, you can be sure a Colin McKay endorsement will bring the kind of credibility few other people in the sport can offer.
