When you think about the greatest defensive players in the history of the National Football League, the name Dan Hampton is bound to come up. As a member of the feared Chicago Bears “Monsters of the Midway” defense in the 1980s, Hampton was a constant menace to the opposing team’s quarterback. Nicknamed “Danimal,” Hampton played his entire 11-year career in the Windy City, and he is still a legendary icon in Chicago. Hampton, a four-time NFL Pro Bowl selection, was a key player on the 1985 Super Bowl team, which just might have had the best defense ever.
