Eddie George will forever be remembered as one of the best running backs in the history of Ohio State University. After a mediocre start to his collegiate career, Eddie George became the Buckeye’s starter as a junior and by the end of his senior year he won the Heisman Trophy.
After leaving Ohio State as the leading rusher in the history of the program, Eddie George was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft by the Houston Oilers. George burst onto the NFL scene in his first season, 1996, winning Rookie of the Year honors. His dominant NFL career continued until 2005, during which time George was voted to the Pro Bowl four times. In addition to the individual accolades he accumulated throughout his career, George helped his Tennessee Titans reach Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000.
After retiring from the NFL in 2005, Eddie George continued on to a variety of ventures. In addition to serving as an analyst on FOX network’s pre-game coverage, George owns two sports themed restaurants and is a principal owner of an architectural group called The Edge Group.
