Jake Delhomme went undrafted to the NFL in 1998 to the New Orleans Saints. In his time with the Saints, Delhomme became a fan favorite and often had his name chanted at games. He finished his preseason as the NFC leader in passer rating overall. He played for New Orleans until 2002. In 2003 Delhomme signed with the Carolina Panthers. In Super Bowl XXXVIII he passed for 323 yards and 3 touchdowns, the leader of his team. In 2006 he was voted to his first Pro-Bowl.
Delhomme spent the first few years of his professional career playing for the NFL Europe. He helped lead his team to the World Bowl, and was later inducted to the Frankfurt Galaxy Hall of Fame. Delhomme’s huge success in the NFL Europe allowed him to be viewed highly back in the U.S. and sky-rocketed his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints. From there on, he progressed as a player and became a football star.
