Having played for a legendary coach like Bob Paroli, Joe Horn was able to develop his football skills and stood out as a quarterback, tailback, and wide receiver. But despite his successes everywhere else on the field, Horn was actually voted to the Mid-South 4A All-Star team as a punter.
Horn’s professional football career began in 1995 with the Memphis Mad Dogs of the Canadian Football League, where he led the team in receptions and receiving yards. In 1996, he entered the ranks of the NFL after being drafted in the fifth round by the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2000, he joined the New Orleans Saints as a free agent, where he has been selected to the Pro Bowl four out of his six years with the team. Horn also holds franchise records for receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and receiving games. His 1,399 receiving yards in 2004 was the second most in the league.
