Biography

Joey Galloway earned numerous honors as a college football star, where he finished in the top five all time in many of the Ohio State University’s receiving records. As a junior, he caught 47 passes for 946 yards and tied with Cris Carter for the school record of 11 touchdowns. Additionally, his stellar performance earned him First-Team All-Big Ten Conference honors. During his senior year, he earned Second-Team All-Big Ten Conference. Galloway left the university fourth in both career receptions and receiving yards, and second in touchdown receptions.

Originally drafted by the Seattle Seahawks eighth overall in 1995, Galloway immediately made impact as a rookie, capturing records in receptions and receiving yards. During Galloway’s stint with the Seahawks, he was also regarded as a successful punter. The following season, a Joey Galloway appearance was featured in all 16 games, leading the team in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns.

In 2000, Galloway began his career with the Dallas Cowboys. In 2002, he again started in 16 games for the Cowboys, ending the season as leader in yards-per-catch average. In March 2004, the Cowboys traded him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Keyshawn Johnson, where he played in 10 games during his first year. A year later, he enjoyed his best season as a pro, with a career high 83 passes for 1,287 yards and 10 touchdowns. In 2006, he started 14 of 16 games and made 62 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns. A Joey Galloway appearance with the Buccaneers also made history, becoming the second player to go over the 1,000 yard receiving mark in back-to-back seasons.
