At the 2005 NFL Draft, Luis Castillo was the 28th overall pick in the first round despite admitting that he used a steroid hormone that increased the amount of testosterone his body produced, promoting muscle growth and healing, he said he used the steroids to help him recover from an elbow injury.

Castillo plays for the San Diego Chargers and has been called one of the best young defensive lineman. In the 2007 Pro Bowl, he was a second alternate. Luis is also the first player from the Dominican Republic to be drafted and start in the NFL.
