The Green Bay Packers have more than their share of living legends, and right up at the top of the list is Paul Hornung. The #1 overall pick in the 1957 NFL Draft after winning the 1956 Heisman Trophy at Notre Dame, Hornung proved to be one of the best backs in NFL history (and also a pretty good kicker and punter). As one of the leaders of the Pack, Hornung helped Green Bay win four championships, including the first Super Bowl in 1967. A stint serving in the U.S. Army, a pinched nerve and other injuries cut his career short, but he was still an obvious choice to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Hornung penned an autobiography entitled “Golden Boy” and he later wrote a book entitled “Lombardi and Me,” which chronicled his relationship with legendary coach Vince Lombardi.
