The first Hubert Green appearance on the PGA Tour took place in 1969. The 26 year career that followed featured 19 victories including the 1977 US Open at Southern Hills and the 1985 PGA Championship at Cherry Hills. In addition to his major championships, Green played on three Ryder Cup teams and finished as high as third in the World Golf Rankings.
Today, a Hubert Green appearance in golf takes place on the Champions Tour. In his 12 years on the Champions tour, Green has won a total of four events.

An inspiration Hubert Green speaker topic is his battle with cancer. In the spring of 2003, Green was diagnosed with throat cancer. After a painful regimen of radiation and chemotherapy, Green’s cancer went into remission, and he went on to continue his golfing career.

One famous Hubert Green appearance came at an event where Green placed third. It was the 1977 Open Championship at Turnberry now referred to as the “Duel in the Son.” Green finished a distant third to Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus who finished 11 and 10 shots ahead of him respectively.

A Hubert Green endorsement has been given to a popular mixed drink: sweet tea-flavored vodka and lemonade. It is a twist on an Arnold Palmer drink product bearing the legend’s name.
