Biography

Raymond Floyd turned pro in 1961 and established himself on the PGA Tour. His first victory came in the 1963 St. Petersburg Open Invitational. He went on to win 22 times on tour until 1992. Floyd’s wins included four major championships: the 1969 and 1982 PGA Championships, the 1976 Masters, and the 1986 US Open. He is one of the oldest players to have won a major championship. Floyd also competed on the Senior PGA Tour, now known as the Champions Tour, and won 14 times between 1992 and 2000, including four senior majors and two Senior Tour Championships. In addition to his major victories, Floyd also won at least 24 additional tournaments around the world. His total victory record now includes more than 60 events. He also played for the US on eight Ryder Cup teams and was team captain in 1989. In 1989, he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Raymond Floyd Speaker

With his impressive credentials, Floyd proved to the golf world that age doesn’t matter as long as you are a dedicated athlete. Perhaps more importantly, Floyd proved that if you enjoy what you’re doing, you can accomplish anything. And that’s the way Floyd played his golfing career – he always enjoyed himself. As a result, a Raymond Floyd speaker appearance at your next corporate function will give this Hall of Fame golfer the chance to remind people of the importance of being better by enjoying themselves and their occupations.

Raymond Floyd Appearance

In his prime – which lasted longer than most golfers – a Raymond Floyd appearance on a golfing magazine covers was a regular event. As recently as 1994 he and his family were featured by Golfweek as the 1994 “Golf Family of the Year.” He was also selected as Golf World’s “Man of the Year” in 1992. With Floyd’s excellent golf record, as well as his reputation for a strong family life, a Raymond Floyd appearance is an appearance by a true role model.
