Before being drafted 111th overall in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers, there was a Miroslav Satan appearance in the Czechoslovak and Slovak leagues.

In the ’94-’95 season, there was a Miroslav Satan appearance with four minor league teams including the Oilers’ farm club in Cape Breton and the Detroit Vipers of the IHL. His career with the Vipers includes him scoring the winning goal in an exhibition game against Wayne Gretzky’s all-star team.

In 2005, he signed with the New York Islanders, where he tied for the team lead in points in the ‘05-‘06 season and was third in the league in shooting percentage in the shootout. In July 2008, Satan signed a one year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
