Scott Niedermayer was as the third overall selection by the New Jersey Devils in the 1991 Entry Draft. Niedermayer played 12 straight seasons with the Devils, winning three Stanley Cups in 1995, 2000, and 2003. In the 2000 playoffs, he tied the record for most shorthanded goals scored by a defenseman in the playoffs.
August of 2005 brought the first Scott Niedermayer appearance with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, and it was also the first Scott Niedermayer appearance in professional hickey alongside his brother, Rob.
As of 2007, Niedermayer is the only player to win the six major championships for Canadian players: the Memorial Cup, World Junior Hockey Championship gold, World Hockey Championship gold, Olympic gold, the Stanley Cup, and the World Cup.
