Biography

The first Sterling Marlin appearance on the NASCAR scene was at Nashville Speedway in 1976. Two years later, he made two more starts and finished ninth at World 600 and twenty-fifth at Nashville. In 1979, he ran Nashville again and finished 17th. The following year, he posted two top-tens and was three time track champion at the historic Nashville Speedway USA from 1980 to 1982. In 1983, Marlin posted a 10th-place finish at Dover International Speedway and finished 19th in the standings. He also won the Rookie of the Year award that year.

In 1986, Marlin participated at the Firecracker 400, where he finished second. The following year, he became a full-time driver. He had four top-fives and finished was 11th in points. During the 1990 season, he won his first career Busch Series race at Charlotte. He also scored two victories early in the 2002 season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Darlington Raceway.

Sterling Marlin Speaker

Marlin had his own share of grave experiences in racing, one of it was the death of Dale Earnhardt. Marlin appeared to make contact with him, causing Earnhardt to crash head-on into the Turn 4 wall, an impact that killed him. In the following days, Marlin and his family received hate mail and death threats from angry fans who felt that Marlin was responsible for the accident. He was eventually publicly defended by two of Earnhardt’s drivers and was also cleared of any wrongdoing by NASCAR’s investigation into the accident. The incident might have been dangerous for Marlin’s reputation, but he still went on to pursue his career. With his experience, a Sterling Marlin speaker appearance will prove to be a great opportunity for your audience to learn to be strong when facing adversities and heartbreaks.

Sterling Marlin Appearance

As a child, Sterling Marling already knew what path he would take, and was even helping out at his father’s shop. With a Sterling Marlin appearance at your corporate function, the NASCAR superstar will inspire your audience to keep believing in their dreams,, just as he did, and how that belief ultimately leads to success.

Sterling Marlin Endorsement

A Sterling Marling endorsement is a powerful tool for any company looking for instant recognition. After all, Marlin is one of only three drivers in Cup history to win back-to-back Daytona 500s, joining Richard Petty and Cale Yarborough as the only drivers to earn that distinction.
