In college, Angela Hucles was a four-year all-conference soccer player. She remains Virginia’s career women’s leader in goals, game-winning goals, and total points.

After graduation, Hucles played for the Hampton Roads Piranhas of the W-League. There was also an Angelina Hucles appearance with the Boston Breakers of the Women’s United Soccer Association for three seasons.

As a member of the US national team, Hucles first appeared in April 2002 in a match against Finland. In 2003, although she was a member of the US team at the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup, she was unable to play due to a shin injury. In 2004, Hucles helped the US team win the gold medal at the Summer Olympics. After her successful trip to Athens, she returned to the W-League to play for the Boston Renegades for two seasons. Hucles was part of the gold medal-winning team of the 2008 Olympics, where she led the US with four goals scored.
