Biography

Carly Patterson discovered her talent for gymnastics in a rather unlikely setting—a birthday party. A coach at the gym where the party was held saw her and was amazed at her natural ability. She enrolled at Elite Gymnastics in Baton Rouge, where she spent the first five years of her gymnastics career. She earned the title of 1999 Louisiana Level 10 State Champion before moving to Texas.

In 2000, Patterson participated in the Top Gym Tournament in Belgium, where she won the silver medal in the all-around and placed third in the balance beam. She also participated in the 2001 Goodwill games in Australia, where she ranked second in the all-around before the final rotation. Her balance beam routine was impressive, and it was then that her signature double Arabian dismount was featured. Patterson placed fourth in the 2000 US Junior National All-Around, third in 2001, and was finally declared champion in 2002. She was then being considered for the 2004 Olympic All-Around title. She earned the all-around silver medal at the 2003 World Gymnastics Championships, making her the first American woman to win an all-around medal at the said competition since 1994. She also helped her team to earn the team gold medal. In the 2003 American Cup, Patterson was the youngest competitor and it was her first major senior competition. She won in the all-around yet again and in 2004, she won all four events, including the all-around.

In the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Patterson competed as an all-around athlete, finishing first overall, qualifying for the all-around and balance beam finals, where she ranked second. Patterson won the gold medal in the individual all-around. She also became the first American woman to ever win the Olympic All-Around title in a fully attended Olympic Games.

Carly Patterson Speaker

Since the Athens Games, Carly Patterson has done numerous talk shows such as Ellen, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with David Letterman, and Live with Regis and Kelly. In 2005, she expressed her interest in becoming a pop singer and has since written, produced, and recorded demo songs with professionals of the music industry. She was part of the reality show, “Celebrity Duets” in 2006. Also, she is being filmed nearly 24/7 for a TV special about her life since winning the gold. All thid Carly Patterson speaker experience and television exposure means the young idol enjoys performing whether it’s in the gym or on stage at your next corporate function.

Carly Patterson Appearance

A Carly Patterson appearance on TV happens often, but her magazine appearances are also notable. She landed on the cover of Cosmo Girl and was chosen as one of Glamour’s women of the year. She also had event appearances such as in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and The Tooth Fairy Foundation charity concert. Patterson has donated a portion of her tour salary to the American Red Cross to help Florida hurricane victims. Gracing the pages of fashion magazines and fund-raising for charities are proofs of Carly Patterson’s inner and outer beauty. She is definitely a role model for the youth, making her appearance a memorable and influential one at your next corporate function.

Carly Patterson Endorsement

Following her Olympic success, there had been a lot of Carly Patterson endorsement offers. She was only 16 when she signed endorsement deals with Visa, AT&T Wireless, and McDonald’s. These were all in addition to her two-year-old relationship with ActiveWrap. She also had her own Wheaties box commemorating her Olympic victories. One of her television commercials was that of Mobile ESPN, which was aired during Super Bowl XL. Trading cards, t-shirts, and signed Wheaties boxes are just some of the bevy of Carly Patterson memorabilia available on Ebay. Because she’s young, wholesome, and pretty, many brands have already recognized Patterson’s potential in the consumer market. You wouldn’t want your company to miss the next big name in endorsements, would you?
